#30dayglowup - Day 1
After for the most part clearing my skin of acne a couple of years ago (big shout out to accutane) I still struggle with feeling confident in my skin due to the scarring left over. I seem to be one of the unlucky few who are left with a seemingly permanent mark from any spot I've had on my face, and unfortunately this extends beyond pigmentation to having ice pick and boxscar scars indentations. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel; I have found a skincare routine which, in combination with professional microneedling treatments, has had a noticeable impact on reducing my scarring and so for day 1 of my #30dayglow up, I'm going to share it with you. In fact, here are my before and after results from before accutane, to early 2019 (photo with makeup on so pigmented scars aren't visible) to current (no makeup):And so in line with my glow up goal of clearing my skin fully, I think I've optimised my skincare now to the point where I'm comfortable recommending it to other people and have seen significant results from the products I'm using. To achieve my goal I am going to fully commit to this routine but continue to expand my skincare knowledge to heal my scars as much as possible. And so, to finally get to the point:
Morning skincare routine
- Cerave SA smoothing cleanser
- The Ordinary niacinamide and Zinc
- The Ordinary caffeine solution under eyes
- The Ordinary ascorbic acid + alpha arbutin
- Cerave moisturising lotion w/ The Ordinary hyalauronic acid on damp skin
- Cerave facial moisturising lotion with SPF
Evening skincare routine
- Garnier micellar water to remove makeup

- Cerave moisturising lotion w/ The Ordinary hyalauronic acid on damp skin
- The Ordinary vitamin C suspension 30% in silicone
- (When my skin is feeling dry) COSRX advanced snail munic with a few drops of TO rosehip oil
Once a week products

- The Ordinary peeling solution
- Shave face with a facial razor
And that about sums it up! I know that probably seems a bit insane if you're new to skincare but trust me that was me about half a year ago. I will go into more specific product reviews and recommendations over time and details about why this routine works so well, but for now it gives you an idea of where I'm at with my routine, and if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Tomorrow's post is going to be covering my overall top 10 glow up product recommendations so stay tuned for that, and I hope you enjoyed day 1!
