7 Different Manifestation Techniques To Achieve Your Dream Life (Day 26)

#30dayglowup - Day 27

Manifestation is becoming more and more popular for people wanting to achieve their dreams, but how do you actually do it?

The idea of ‘manifesting’ has been around for a while now but has recently gained a huge amount of popularity, especially as a tik tok trend. I practice manifestation in order to bring my closer to achieving my goals by using the law of attraction, as well as a technique to stay on top of my ever-evolving aspirations. It can be a very powerful way to achieve things in your life which you’ve never quite been able to reach whether that be a certain relationship, job, health, travel or any other kind of success.

However, it is sometimes confusing to know where to even start. I remember seeing so many articles and videos on the concept of manifesting when I was first introduced to the idea but still being confused. And people’s comments agreed with me: What do I actually do? Manifesting appeared to be some wishy-washy concept where you just thought about and focused on ideas, but to me this never felt like I was actually doing anything.

Since then I’ve researched into a lot of different techniques as to how you carry out the process of manifestation. As the concept is so abstract and can be very personally to the individual, you can choose to do it however you want. If that’s just rethinking and reflecting in your head and it works for you then that’s great! But if you’re looking for something a bit more concrete in terms of physical techniques, then keep reading.

What is manifestation?

Manifestation is the concept that if you believe and reflect on your dreams then they will materialize into your life in a tangible way. It’s strongly intertwined with the law of attraction, which is essentially positive thoughts attract positive things, and is based on the concept that your life is an expression of who you are and so you have the power to make it reflect your wants.

Whilst I’m not 100% convinced about the more vibrational, spiritual aspect of the law of attraction I do strongly believe that you can shape your life to the way you want it, and manifestation to me helps me hone and focus on the specific things I want to achieve. It also strongly intertwines with my glow up journey in terms of cultivating the best possible version of myself and pushing myself to reach my full potential.

7 different manifestation techniques to achieve your dream life

Journaling

This is the route that I’ve most attached myself to. Since I’m a student I’ve researched a lot of revision techniques and know that physically writing something and using spatial repetition is the best way to get an idea fully ingrained into your subconscious and you can access it using long-term memory. It has really helped me in keeping track of the progress I’ve made so far as well as staying grateful to the universe throughout my journey.

If you’re looking for a full guide as to how to use the law of attraction via a manifestation journal, I have written one here. But if you’re looking for a quick lesson here are some tips as to getting started:

Use meditation

Since meditation is the process of focusing your thoughts and becoming at peace with your mind whilst blocking out external influences, it can very effectively work with the process of manifestation.

How to:

  • Write down your manifestation e.g. I get a promotion at work
  • Set a timer to meditate and get yourself in a comfortable position
  • Focus on that thought and only that thought for the duration of the timer
  • Repeat for all your manifestations

One drawback to this is depending on what you do with your written manifestation, it may be difficult to keep track of your goals and what you’ve achieved so far. However, if you find that your manifestations tend to be very fluid and depend on the day to day as opposed to more long term, then you may find this to be a good technique for you.

Create a mood board

For more visual people, a mood board may be a good way of manifesting in a way that’s more personal to you. Whilst I tend to focus on specific thoughts that I’m wanting to manifest, if imagery works for you this could utilize the law of attraction better. For example, if you’re manifesting being able to travel more and so your aims are focused on satiating your wanderlust, you may want to create a mood board of places you want to go and see. So long as you regularly hold this imagery within your mind and reflect on it, there’s no reason this can’t work as well as writing down ideas.

Practice emotions of your success

Think about how you’re going to feel after you achieve something. Using the promotion example, you’d feel incredibly proud of yourself, maybe relieved if it helps out your financial situation, and excited for the future. These three emotions are something to strongly focus on when you’re manifesting – how exactly is it going to feel when you reach this goal? This technique is more focused on the law of attraction as envisioning these emotions are going to attract them to you.

Sleep on your manifestations

Some people who believe in manifesting think that obsessing and overthinking is damaging to your chances at success and so use the technique of creating a manifestation and ‘releasing’ it. The next technique also uses this same concept – you write a manifestation, let it go, and let the universe do the work for you.

For sleeping some people write their manifestations just before bed on a sheet of paper and sleep with them under your pillow. The next morning you dispose of it in any way you like – maybe burn at as suggested in the next technique. Your mind when you’re asleep is a very complex thing – no one truly knows what triggers your dreams and how this is intertwined with your subconscious. By focusing on a manifestation just before bed and letting your subconscious do the work, it allows you to really focus on an idea without obsessing about it and letting it consume you.

Burn your manifestations

Here we’re more encroaching on witchy territory which I’m not an expert on such as rituals and sacrifices, however we’re more dipping our toes in the shallow end when it comes to burning your manifestations. This is very similar to the previous technique as it’s based on the idea of thinking of something and then releasing it from you. Some people believe this to be more effective as it shows the universe that you have faith it in to take you on the right path and reward you for your trust. It’s up to use how you choose to manifest – try and experiment with different techniques to see what works best for you.

A note on obsession

As I touched on in the techniques, becoming obsessed with what you’re manifesting is a risk which could be damaging to your mental health. Remember that it shouldn’t consume you and even though it’s recommended to manifest regularly, it shouldn’t be all that you’re thinking about. Enjoying the journey and falling in love with your current life is equally, if not more important than aspiring for your dream life. Manifesting does come with the risk of allowing yourself to let your life pass you by because you’re so focused on the future – remember to romanticize yourself and enjoy every moment as it comes because you may look back with regret otherwise.

I hope now you’ve got a few more ideas about the best way for you to begin your manifestation journey in a way that’s adapted to you. Remember not to focus on it too much and enjoy your life as it comes as well.
